My Gateway legacy

I started writing for UNO’s Gateway Newspaper as a contributor during the spring semester of my freshman year of college. Shortly thereafter, I was promoted to a staff position as an online reporter. A year after that, I became the digital editor of the publication and oversaw contributors and online reporters while still creating strategic and authentic content every week.

For the 2019-2020 school year, I was the Gateway’s Editor-in-Chief. I took our voice to the next level as a legitimate and respected publication in the Omaha/UNO community while amplifying our digital presence.

During my time at the Gateway, I wrote breaking news stories, investigative pieces, in-depth feature stories, emotional first-person narratives, and implemented a ‘good news’ column called “The Greatway.” In addition, I was part of a rebranding strategy and helped plan public fundraising events throughout the year.

Below are a few samples of my work, but for a more complete look at my many Gateway articles, click this link.
